Esther's Faith: God's Secret Weapon
8. Including Others
Esther 4:
16 "Go and gather together all the Jews of Shushan and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day; and I and my maids will do the same; and then, though it is strictly forbidden, I will go in to see the king; and if I perish, I perish."
17 So Mordecai did as Esther told him to.
(The Living Bible)
We are continuing to examine the results which came from the three days of fasting and prayer in this time of danger and crisis:
The three days of prayer and fasting laid these Second Faith Foundations in Esther's life:
Esther's heart turned towards the Jews. Maybe for the first time, she began to see them as 'her people'.
She received from the Lord:
A heart of love for her people
A willingness to sacrifice her life for her people
A determination to stand faithfully with her people
Prayer:
Father, show me, as clearly as You did Your servant Esther, who are the people in my life to whom I must commit myself in love and sacrifice, in Jesus' name, Amen.
